I'm blogging from Tawau airport..will depart back to KLIA in an hour time. That means..I have time to blog! I have been here  for 4 days attending a seminar. Pheww.. i really am super busy these days with workload and my active 8-month old baby. I have many stories to tell here, but I guess it much been easier if i let the pictures tell the story.

Brought muneef to swimming pool at 7 months and 2 days old

 Nature time for muneef

My active boy will be quiet everytime we placed him in his car seat.

His favourite sleeping position

His second flight trip from Kelantan to KL. I'm carrying him alone with Bjorn style carrier

 On the way to Muar

He can crawl already and I'm quite sad coz he has already can depend on himself :( Anak mummy dah independant dah.

Baby Food- Homemade Porridge

My baby is about to turn to 7 months old in a week time. He has been fed with scheduled solid food for 3 weeks. This is his feeding schedule so far:

10.00 am – Cereal (Nestle Gold Apple& Cranberry/ Nestle Brown Rice)
2.30 pm – Fruits/Vegetable puree (Heinz baby food, Petit baby food, homemade puree)
7.00 pm – Farley’s biscuits/ Yogurt

To varietize his food, my husband made his version of baby porridge to be given at 10.00 am. My baby loves it very much, and ate it more than usual.

This is the recipe he made.

Ikan bilis

1. Potong kecil carrot and chicken, then rebus.
2. Fry ikan bilis, then blend in the blender.
 Fried ikan bilis

3. Blend rice, carrot, chicken altogether in the blender.
4. Rebuskan semua dalam periuk sampai masak (boiling)
5. Add a small amount (about half spoon) of marmite-to make the porridge salty.
6. Leave it to warm-Serve

Simple, kan?

It makes into 3 bowls. Muneef ate a bowl and the lefovers are kept in the freezer.

Two bowls of homemade porridge

 The leftovers

Sedap la abah. TQ

Abah, nanti buat lagi, ok?

My weekday schedule

Being a working mom is quite challenging, especially if you don’t have a maid to take care of your house, plus your jobs sometimes acquire you to travel around during weekends, plus your workplace is miles away from your parents and in-laws. My job do suck almost all my energy, and left me draining at the end of the week. Being far away from your family sometimes acquires you to travel back home during weekends, and i have to do all house chores during weekdays.

This is my weekday schedule, all the must-thing to do during weekdays.

6.30 am – 7.45 am – bangun, mandi, sembahyang, iron baju, kejut Muneef

7.45 am -8.00 am – hantar Muneef kat rumah babysitter, pergi kerja

8.00 am – 1.00 pm- meeting/masuk ladang/kerja lab (10.30 am-11.00 am – makan pagi & tengahari)

1.00 pm- 2.00 pm – ambil Muneef, balik rumah, main-main dengan Muneef, sembahyang, mandi (kalau kerja kat ladang)

2.00 pm- 5.00 pm – meeting/kerja administration/masuk ladang/kerja lab

5.00 pm-5.30 pm- siap-siap nak balik kerja, ambil Muneef umah babysitter

5.30 pm – 6.30 pm – layan Muneef (bapak die main pingpong kat pejabat)

6.30 pm- 7.30 pm- kemas umah, angkat baju, basuh baju, sidai baju (masa ni my husband bagi makan Muneef), masak/kadang-kadang makan kat luar

7.30 pm- 8.30 pm- mandi, mandikan Muneef, sembahyang

8.30 pm-10.30 pm- sembahyang, cuci dapur (kalau masak) cuci & sterile botol2 susu Muneef, lipat baju, iron baju (kadang-kadang iron esok pagi), layan Muneef

10.30 pm -12.00 am- try tidurkan Muneef, susah tau si Muneef ni nak tido-sekarang dah makin aktif

12.00 am -6.30 am Muneef bangun every 3 hours (2 times per night)

I am trying to find the time (and energy) to focus on other things, such as finishing the books i read since 6 months ago, and have more rest time!!

Baby in Walker

I know nowadays there are contoverises over babies in walker. Many studies suggest that walkers are not safe for babies. I even made up my mind not to buy Muneef a walker. However, at 4 months, he started to show signs of walking, and is active ever since. He don't want to sit or lay down, (unless at sleep and feeding time of course). It continues for 2 weeks until I decided that maybe it is best to try the walker.

I know he's still young at that time, but he seems very happy. He look like an expert, and i cant believe that he actually knows how to move his leg muscles. However as a precaution, we always keep an eye of him while in walker and only use it for short periods of time.

This is picture of Muneef, at 5 half months.
Yay, naik walker

Jom jalan

I didn't forget to teach him to crawl. So far my baby dah meniarap, hope he will start crawling soon.

  • Social withdrawal
  • Low or no energy

Do I suffer this PPD? I think i got most of the symptoms, and I am really angry at somebody right now. GRRR..

Internet Connection

This is the best Internet connection at Bukit Dinding, Jerantut - Celcom Broadband with unstable Edge signal.

Mobile Partner with Huawei E220 HSDPA USB Modem

No streamyx, no Wi-max, no HSDPA and of course, no 3G.

While waiting for Yahoo Mail to upload, I have plenty of times to change Muneef diaper.

At 4 months old, my son has started to show the sign of teething.

Excessive drooling

Chewing on everything into his mouth

He also gets cranky sometimes and started to wake up in the middle of the night. To help him soothe his pain, I bought him a few teethers.

Being a mom in Jerantut which offers limited baby shops, I opted to online baby shops (except for Anakku range coz Jerantut has one). Most of the baby items I bought are from, and The Lil Caliph.

There are many range of teether available in the market, such as the silicone teether, water or gel-filled teether, hard texture teether, vibrating teether, chill-able teether and so on.

I’ve tried a few on Muneef, including:

MAM Bite and Brush

Phillips Avent Classic Stage 1 Front Teether

Phillips Avent: Animal Stage 1 Front Teether

I also bought Fisher Price Penguin Teether, Anakku Silicone Teether, Pureen Teether and also MAM My First Teething Cloth.

Muneef teether collection

So far, the best one for my little 4 months old is MAM Bite and Brush. Unfortunately we left the teether at my MIL’s house at USJ, no pictures Munef chewing on it though. So currently the next better teether he loves is Anakku silicone teether. I guess he loves them because of their slim size which makes it easy for him to bite on.

Muneef with Anakku silicone teether

Avent Classic teether is also a slim teether but the texture is quite hard. Since he is at the first teething stage, it is still not suitable for him yet.

Muneef with his Avent Classic teether

Other teethers are quite big and still not suitable for his little mouth. Maybe he can use them when he turns 6 months plus.

For now, he's happy with Anakku.

1st September 2009

My son was born at 2.30 am 1st September 2009…If he was to born 3 hours earlier, he could have been a "Merdeka Baby".. and he might make the news, like we did.

mStar Online : Penyatuan atas keikhlasan, ADUN PAS dan Umno berbesan

Sorry but I don’t fancy being in the news. So does what I felt about my son. When Dr Lily of the Kota Bharu Medical Centre asked me to choose whether I want to be induced on the night of 30 August or in the morning of 31 August, of course I choose the latter hope that he will pop out on 1st September.

Muneef right after he was born

Muneef on his 1st day

Muneef on his 2nd day

Futhermore, I prefer the month of September, so that we can share the birthday month together.. and of course, it is easier to remember his IC number, which started with 090901.

1st September is definitely a miracle day

Sheikh Muneef

This is my son, Sheikh Muneef, 4 months. He loves to pose, well, I mean he loves to look at the camera everytime we took pictures of him. Maybe he was thinking what are these guys doing. holding the big black camera towards him.
